Portalgraphics openCanvas 4.5 Plus

openCanvas, popularly abbreviated as oC, is one of my favorite, and I believe a very understated Japanese image editing and paint program on the market for graphic artists. It is powerful and unique with an easy to use GUI and one of the only programs I have used that allows 360 degree rotation of the image while you paint. openCanvas offers a broad range of brushes, gradient and tone, layers and an extensive filter palate. The artist can record drawing and painting sessions using the "Event File" (adjustable speed) allowing playback to see how the artwork was created making it an excellent teaching device. openCanvas includes the ability to combine patterned tones to create gradations within images and can read and save to BMP, JPEG, PNG and PSD formats. It is compatible with ME/2000/XP/Vista/Windows 7.

LogMeIn Ignition (US$29.99) is a popular tool for making hassle-free remote control sessions to Macs and PCs. We've reviewed the universal app on TUAW before, and it's a well-designed tool for those who may not want to play with router settings and firewall ports to get a VNC connection going.

OmniFocus ($79.95 from the Omni store or $69.99 from Amazon; eligible for FREE Super Saver Shipping)

OmniFocusOmniFocus is a personal task manager by OmniFocus Group for the Mac OS X and iOS (Mac, iPad and iPhone). The program uses concepts and techniques from David Allen's book, Getting Things Done.

This is a fantastic program for those of you who have been (or are still) diehard Franklin Covey or DayTimer users who are looking for a personal task manager software for your brain dump (projects and actions). The OmniFocus database for the Mac, iPad and iPhone syncs easily across all devices. This program is a bit pricey, but in my opinion, well worth the money.

ClipMenu (a free clipboard manager for 10.5 and up)

If you've ever wished you could access a history of your clipboard, you might want to check out ClipMenu. This free program will allow you to access 8 clipboard types from text to images.
